Hey Simon! I want to thank you for this series. Due to my line of work this year being a bit more unstable than usual, I had to go back to havinga motorcycle being my only mode of transportation. I needed something reliable and cheap, so I was kinda sadly looking at the smaller displacement bikes. I usually ride 600cc & up, but don't get me wrong! It was never the engine size that was a concern, but the size of the bikes. I am 6 foot tall and on the heavy side around 250 lbs (nearly 18 stone or 113 kg), so trying to comfortably sit and control the smaller bikes was annoying and potentially dangerous. It wasn't until Triumph released the Scrambler 400x that I wanted a smaller engine bike. I was waiting on people to film ACTUAL riding and not reviews from press events. This series you produced really put into perspective the good and bad of a bike. I bought my Scrambler just this past Friday (June 14th!) and I could not be happier. I can't wait to get past these break in miles, though. Only being able to go part throttle and under 6,500 rpm is killing me. I also recommend to gear up the bike up. I am doing A LOT of shifting. It is almost geared like a 250cc 2-Stroke dirt bike when it doesn't need to be. Shifting the final drive so the gears are taller will make 1st gear more useful. Other than that, the bike is gorgeous and commands attention. I can't wait to see the aftermarket support that will trickle out in the coming years. ALSO! @4:33 you accidentally hit the kill switch. I am finding in the bumpy LA streets, that switch sometimes kills the bike. I have to flip it to make sure it is fully engaged to "ON" as well as the fact that I have also accidentally kill switched myself!! It is a bit on the soft side, it needs to have a stiffer spring. Just like the foot pegs.

I bought one of the last run out models at a great price with luggage. At 6'2" the stock screen is rubbish. The wind noise is appalling and you can hear it in this video. You almost cannot hear the engine. I bought an MRA X-Creen to replace the stock screen and all the wind noise is gone. Best money spent.

Yeah, I think we learned as much about India as we did the bikes. Great filming! You really put a lot of work into this. This series was incredibly informative (the best on UA-cam). For my intended use, it's the Scrambler...a bike for road travel in Ecuador, dirt roads, and to ride around town every day. I was happy to see the Scrambler finish very close to the Himalayan. Looking forward to your future videos.

I installed the Givi bars on my 22 Pikes Peak. I’ve noticed a lot of vibration now, especially between 4500-5200 rpms. Any vibration from yours?

Loving this series! So glad I found it. Can't wait to hear the conclusion. So, these first three days the Himalayan is looking pretty impressive but it still seems kind of big and gangly for riding everyday in town.

Hi Simon, Thank you for sharing. I looked into this method but feel there is too much resting on the single screw (unscrewed ball mount). Ideally it needs to connect to all four mounting points on the Carpuride directly. The second issue I have is the unscrewing of the Evo Tech mount. It's not convenient enough for quick release. Personally, I'm looking for an adapter to connect to Quadlock.

"One of the best seĺling bikes worldwide", there's someone completely detatched from reality. Even in the Indian market nobody buys them, the 350's sell around 60,000 per month, the Himalayan in the low 2,000's. In Africa nobody buys any RE's and the rest of the world looks similar.

Hello, Simon; Congratulations for the delivery of Himalayan 450 🏍. so the bike you got in UK is still with Tubed tyres or is with tubeless support RIM ? I heard from dealership here; that export ones could have the tubeless supported RIMs

When hardwiring to the multistrada sat nav connector, do you need the device’s third cable or just leave it unconnected? I believe it’s the cable that is to be wired to accessory.

Hi Simon, the bike's looking good and it's running well. We're just about to set off on Sunday morning on the new 450's to ride across the Roof Of India. We're in the same position. All the bikes are brand new and we'll be running then in on this ride. I'm arranging all the accessories to be sent to you directly from here in India. Engine guards, sump guard, radiator guard, tank bag, soft panniers, handle bar risers, hand guards and a few other goodies flung in there for good measure. How bad are the vibes through the bars? My Versys 650 MK2 makes my hands go numb so I’m looking for an alternative motorcycle.

Fantastic vid. 900km on mine so far. Too few have has too much to say about this bike. Value for money, can't be beaten. I normally would never buy a first model of anything, but this bike I knew I wouldn't be dissapointed. Yes it vibes but not deal breaker vibes. No worse than allot of other singles have ridden.

Seen 2 videos of afternarket crash bars causing the motorcycle frames to crack. One, the engine half dropped out. RE have had no failures with their accessories.

The other issues that i can see online are that 450 is not great of road unlike the 411. 450 I think that there are a lot of people in the same position as myself ??? To heavy to tall high reving engine and unproven unlike the 411.

There are so many reviews of this bike most are totaly conflicting . Some say great others say crap engine .To tall ???? We have been talking for a while now and i am completey confused. 411 / 450 ???? for me its a lot of cash with no income and limited spend . This is the biggest descision that i will make re what bike comes next . Still not sure . You said that the 411 is under powered for two up ?? the 450 revs hard to keep up the speed.
